Associate in Applied Science

The computer engineering technology program of study has two subspecialties, Computer Technician and Internetwork Technician. The Computer Technician subspecialty focuses on computer support and basic networking. The Internetwork Technician subspecialty focuses on networking and internetworking (connecting multiple networks together). Both specialties have core classes in computer repair, various operating systems usage, installation, and configuration, basic electronics courses, and an internship. The programs also emphasize hands-on instruction. The certifications these specialties prepare you for include A+, Network+, various Microsoft certifications, and Cisco’s CCNA.

The Computer Technician subspecialty emphasizes PC installation, configuration, and troubleshooting both hardware and software. Students also learn how to configure a basic network. This program is designed for people new to the technical support world.
