Associate in Applied Science

The computer engineering technology program of study has two subspecialties, Computer Tecnnician and Internetwork Technician. The Computer Technician subspecialty focuses on computer support and basic networking. The Internetwork Technician subspecialty focuses on networking and internetworking (connecting multiple networks together). Both specialties have core classes in computer repair, various operating systems usage, installation, and configuration, basic electronics courses, and an internship. The programs also emphasize hands-on instruction. The certifications these specialties prepare you for include A+, Network+, various Microsoft certifications, and Cisco’s CCNA.

The Internetwork Technician subspecialty emphasizes installing, configuring, and troubleshooting computers, networks, and internetworks. FCCJ is an authorized Cisco Academy. The four Cisco classes that are part of the academy are included in this subspecialty.
