College Credit Course Description: IND 1606

IND 1606 Functions and Psychology of Space — 3 Credit Hours
Prerequisite: IND 1020. This studio course analyzes social interactive environments, private and work spaces for residential environments. The psychological use of space, efficiency of traffic patterns, and effectiveness of design are also explored. Students will read, evaluate, modify and execute a floor plan based upon the requirements for the space zones. The course also will explore the multiples of background modifications for visual impact on the total design of an interior space. Students will learn basic drafting skills. Four contact hours: two lecture hours, two laboratory hours. A.S., A.A.S.
