NUR 1140 Pharmacology and Nutrition in Health and Illness — 3 Credit Hours
Prerequisite: admission to the nursing program. Pharmacology and Nutrition in Health and Illness is a study of pharmacotherapeutics nutrition and drug therapy as it relates to client care. Pharmacologic principles, nutrition, methods of nutrition delivery, nursing process, life span considerations of nutrition and medications, and client education are addressed in this course. Drug classification, mechanism of action, dosages, routes of administration, contraindications, side effects, and toxicity related to medications will be discussed in this course.
