Aviation Maintenance Management (2150)

Associate in Science

The aviation maintenance management program is designed to prepare students for immediate employment in the area of aviation maintenance. The completion of this degree leads to Federal Aviation Administration’s Airframe and Powerplant license and preparation for entry level management positions. The plan of study complies with FAR Part 147 and the program is FAA certified.

This degree program offers individuals who already hold an FAA A&P license the opportunity to earn college credit by evaluation for this license, and then pursue an associate in science degree by satisfying the General Education and Professional Elective course requirements. This program will also meet the needs of those students who already have a two- or four-year degree and are seeking new employability skills.

Students seeking an associate in science degree in aviation maintenance management must complete the course requirements in both the airframe mechanic and powerplant mechanic certificates or possess a valid FAA A&P certificate, as well as 23 hours of additional required college credits.

NOTE: This associate in science degree program is intended primarily for students who desire to complete an associate’s degree and become employed. Students who decide to pursue university transfer study must meet certain course and test requirements. For details refer to the university transfer requirements of the catalog.
