Vocational Certificate Program This program is designed specifically
to provide job training to give students the basic knowledge and understanding
required to satisfactorily perform the duties and responsibilities of
the police patrol person. PREREQUISITE: Some of the courses offered are restricted to individuals sponsored by law enforcement agencies, while others are FCCJ-sponsored and require students to take and pass the following: score at least a 12.0 in reading, language and mathematics on the state mandated Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE), driving history, drug screening, medical examination, polygraph, background investigations, agility testing and oral interview. Students also must be at least 19 years of age, have a valid drivers license, be an American citizen, meet the minimum requirements of a correctional officer or law enforcement officer and be sponsored by an agency or FCCJ. NOTE: Upon successful completion
of the law enforcement basic recruitment training students may receive
up to 34 hours of college credit depending upon the program of study the
student is enrolled in.
*Students who have satisfactory
test scores are not required to take these courses.
