Telecommunications Technology (5713)
The purpose of this program is to prepare students for an entry-level
job as a telecommunications cabling installer, installation and
repair specialist, or technician. Hands-on instruction installing,
troubleshooting, maintaining and servicing telecommunication systems
using safe and efficient work practices is emphasized. Background
information on telecommunications industry practices and standards
is also included.
Scores on the entry-level test determine
whether students will be required to enroll in basic skills training
for reading, mathematics, and language.
Students in this program should be advised
by the instructor or the program manager before enrolling
in courses.
