Computer Engineering Technology (Cisco CCNP Technician) (A373)

Associate in Applied Science

The Computer Engineering Technology program of study has three subspecialties, Computer Technician, Internetwork Technician, and Cisco CCNP Technician. The Computer Technician subspecialty focuses on computer support and basic networking. The Internetwork Technician subspecialty focuses on networking and internetworking (connecting multiple networks together). The Cisco CCNP Technician subspecialty has a small amount of computer technology, but mainly focuses on the Cisco Academy (8 courses total in the academy). All specialties have core classes in computer repair, operating systems, basic networking, and an internship. The programs also emphasize hands-on instruction. The certifications that the Cisco CCNP Technician subspecialty prepares you for include Network+, and Cisco’s CCNA and CCNP.

Special Notes: Based on placement test results, students may be required to take additional courses in the areas of reading, writing and mathematics.

OST 1100 Keyboarding/Introduction to Word Processing is recommended to students who need to acquire keyboarding skills, otherwise students must demonstrate proficiency in keyboarding.
