Teller Training and Proof Operations Industry Certification Preparation Program

The teller training course is designed as job-entry training to enable individuals to function efficiently on the job as tellers. Also, the course can help tellers with experience in strengthening specific skills and becoming aware of the professional aspects of their jobs. Teller Training may also improve performance and attitudes toward co-workers and customers.

The course covers the following topics: professionalism, appearance, and career ladder for tellers; terminology; counting and depositing money; the Federal Reserve; cashing and depositing checks; endorsement and identification for checks; debits, credits and balancing; robbery, fraud, counterfeit and raised currency issues; customer service, communication and telephone techniques; product knowledge, features and benefits; operating a 10-key calculator by touch; CRT operation; balancing out; and job search and job application techniques.

The proof operations course is designed as job-entry training to enable individuals to quickly function on the job as proof operators in financial institutions and retail establishments. The course covers the following topics: professionalism, appearance and career ladder for proof operators; terminology; cashing and depositing checks; endorsement and identification for checks; debits, credits and balancing; routing and sorting; machine operation; MICR Line; CRT operations; error correction; operation of 10-key calculator by touch; and balancing out.
