  Database/E-Commerce Security (Network Data Security) (2170)
   
  The goal of this program in Database/E-Commerce Security (Network Data Security) is to enrich student's knowledge in data network security. This program is designed primarily for information professionals with responsibility for design, implementation or management of information systems. The program may also be appropriate for individuals in other professions who wish to gain an understanding of data and Internet security issues, technologies and administrative practices. The program focuses on hands-on lab-based learning; it is not at the engineering or theory level, but at the practical application level for those who will design, install, manage and troubleshoot security measures in data networks. Topics covered include firewalls, intrusion detection systems, virtual private networks, hacking exploits, security design, securing applications, securing operating systems, and many more relevant and current areas in data security.
 
  Starting or Average Salary: Network System Security Managers average: $63,500.
 
  Certification and Licensing:
The certifications that the Network Data Security program prepares you for include Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP), MCNS, CSPFA, CSIDS, CSVPN, Solaris Administration, Security+, and CCNP exams.
 
  Requirements and Curriculum:
The student must have taken CET 2759, have CCNA certification or consent of the instructor to enroll.

  Students earning an A.S. must take MAC 1105, MGF 1106 or a higer-level mathematics course. Students earning an A.A.S. degree must take MTB 1314, MAT 1033 or a higher-level mathematics course.
