Dealer Specific Automotive Technology (GM-ASEP) (223A) |
The General Motors Automotive Service Educational Program (GM-ASEP) is a partnership involving educational institutions, national and local businesses, students, government and community officials, as well as local dealerships throughout Northeast Florida. This two-year program designed by General Motors, Florida Community College and local businesses to upgrade the technical competence and professional level of the incoming dealership technician. The program combines classroom lecture with laboratory sessions on up-to-date General Motors products, as well as hands-on work experience as an intern at a GM, Saturn or Saab dealership over the two-year course of the program. Completion of the general education courses in the program adds a balance of qualities that are vital to working in today's service industry, and prepares the students for life-long learning.
