  Workforce Certificate
  Telecommunications Technology (5713)
   
  This program provides an entry-level course in cabling installation and continuing education courses for a career in telecommunications. It takes the student through coursework and work experience as a cabling installer, repair and maintenance technician, infrastructure designer, and telecommunications project manager. After completing each course, students are expected to begin related work or take on new job responsibilities related to the course just completed. With that new work experience, students may then decide to take the next course in the program in order to gain additional skills needed for advancement toward the next stage in their telecommunications career.
 
  Starting or Average Salary: Average: $15/hr
 
  Certification and Licensing:
This program will certify students in copper-based and fiber optic cabling.

  *Students who have satisfactory test scores are not required to take these courses.
 
  Application Procedures:
Scores on the entry-level test determine whether students will be required to enroll in basic skills training for reading, mathematics, and language. Students in this program should be advised by the instructor or the program manager before enrolling in courses.
   
  Total Tuition and Fees:
  Estimated tuition is $1,032 (for Florida residents, based on fees as of 7/03)
