Associate in Science/Associate in Applied Science

Dealer Specific Automotive Technology (GM-ASEP) (223A)

You’ll be paid while you fine-tune your skills at a local GM, Saturn or Saab dealership. Our General Motors Automotive Service Educational Program (GM-ASEP) offers you valuable hands-on experience in addition to classroom and lab training. The focus is on GM engine and mechanical repairs, and the program includes a strong academic foundation of math, reading and electronics.

We designed the two-year associate’s degree program with GM and local businesses in order to upgrade the technical competence and professional level of incoming dealership technicians. This program allows you to alternate between attending college and working at a sponsoring GM dealership. Our strong partnerships in the community and industry will be a big advantage for you while you are in training, and later, when you seek a lucrative full-time position.

Completing all requirements leads to your A.S. degree in Automotive Service Management Technology, your GM Training Certificate, and you will be qualified to take the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification examination. With those credentials, you’ll be in the driver’s seat when pursuing a high-income job.

Certification and Licensing
Graduates of this program will earn the GM Training Certificate and will be qualified to take the ASE certification examination.
