  Upon successful completion of the law enforcement basic recruitment training students may receive up to 34 hours of college credit depending upon the program of study the student is enrolled in. CCJ 2488 must be taken before credit for the law enforcement academy will be given. At the discretion of the dean, a waiver of prerequisites for this course may be obtained based upon the classes needed of an out-of-state officer entering into the Florida certification program.
 
  Application Procedures:
As part of the application process, students are required to take and pass the Florida Basic Abilities Test (FBAT), a driving history check, drug screening, medical examination, polygraph, background investigations, agility testing and oral interview. Students also must be at least 19 years of age, have a valid drivers license, and be an American citizen. For information call 904.713.4900.
