Early Childhood Education

This program prepares students for entry-level
employment as child care workers in private, public and family
day care centers. The listed child care worker course comprises
the first 30 hours of the 600 hour Early Childhood Education Workforce
Credit Certificate. Contact the program director for additional
information.
Students completing the Early Childhood Education program will
qualify for the Child Development Associate State of Florida equivalency
(CDAe) and the Child Care Center Directors credential.
Students entering this program may be required to enroll in basic
skills training after completion of 180 hours of training. Placement
in basic skills instruction will be determined by their scores
on the state mandated Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE). Prospective
students should be advised by a counselor prior to enrollment.
