Workforce Certificate

Carpentry (5618)

This program will prepare you for a great job in the carpentry trade. Learn to safely operate hand and power tools; prepare work sites and become skilled in foundation formwork, wall, floor and roof framing, as well as exterior trim. This program teaches essential carpentry skills and offers an optional on-the-job internship, which can help you build on your proficiency and future earnings potential. In addition, if you’re looking to be your own boss, carpentry can provide that opportunity.

This program provides exit points for those who wish to specialize in a specific area. Students must complete courses required for each individual exit point. Students enrolled in this program may be required to enroll in basic skills training.

Expected Job Growth and Earnings

The employment outlook is projected to remain excellent for years to come. Demand for construction of larger homes, starter and second homes, as well as residential, business and industrial complexes will continue to be high.
