Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating Systems Technology (A120)

Air conditioning and heating of our homes and offices, and refrigeration for our perishables are important components of everyday life. All the new construction in Florida has increased the demand for experienced and educated specialists in air conditioning, refrigeration and heating systems. The need for trained technicians who can install, repair or service air conditioning, heating and refrigeration systems is expected to grow faster than the average for all occupations through this decade. This Associate in Applied Science degree will provide the technical skills to install and maintain these systems as well as the theoretical skills to advance into administrative positions in the industry.

Two technical certificates, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating Systems Technician and Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating Systems Assistant, are included as options within this degree program. Students may choose to pursue an A.A.S. degree and earn technical certificates while completing the requirements for the degree, or pursue one or more certificate programs to develop or upgrade their skills in a particular field.
