Logistics and Distribution (5913)

The next time you’re in a store or supermarket, think about the thousands of products on the shelves. How did they all get there? How does the inventory remain stocked so you can find the products you want, when you want them? Those are the questions answered by the logistics and distribution industry. It’s an exacting discipline that involves precise coordination of land, sea and air transportation. Logistics and Distribution is a new certificate program that Florida Community College developed with the help of forty leading transportation companies — companies that will be looking for qualified job candidates in the future.

Career Opportunities, Rapid Placement
Because we created the program by working closely with leading logistics companies, our curriculum has been designed to meet their needs precisely. This means graduates of our program will have all the qualifications they need to enter the industry successfully. And if you’re already working in a transportation-related business, the program can help you advance your career. In fact, the local transportation employers we’ve worked with strongly support the idea of additional education for their employees.

A Certificate or a Degree — It’s Your Choice
If you’re on a fast track, this Workforce Credit Certificate can be completed in just 12 months. If you’re thinking about earning a degree, in just two years you can earn an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in business administration, with a concentration in logistics and distribution. Both programs are designed to meet the needs of employers, including skills in logistics, computer applications, teamwork and communications.
