Technical Certificate

Information Technology Management (Systems Administrator) (6146)

As more companies participate in e-commerce, more specialists are needed to troubleshoot problems. Systems administrators provide day-to-day onsite administrative support. They maintain network hardware and software, analyze problems and ensure an available system to all users.

This program teaches you the basic skills and knowledge needed to work as an entry-level microcomputer technician or desktop support specialist. You then learn to administer networks in Microsoft and Linux environments.

This program may serve as the basis for pursuing industry-recognized certifications such as CompTIA’s A+ Microcomputer Technician certification, Microsoft’s Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) certification, and various Linux certifications. You may also take advantage of credit-by-certification; courses can be skipped and credit granted for equivalent certifications already attained.

All courses in this technical certificate are also included in the Network Administrator associate degree program. You have the option of applying all of the coursework completed in this program toward an associate degree.

Florida Community College partners with manufacturers and employers to develop a workforce certified by Oracle, Microsoft and Cisco. Programs are designed to match industry demands and provide an intensive hands-on experience to ensure you are ready for the job.
