Workforce Credit Certificate Courses
This course also teaches methods and skills for initially investigating a death from an unknown cause; determining if a crime occurred; conditions that determine death; definitions of rigor mortis, lividity, and decomposition; and the role of a medical examiner. The course defines and characterizes Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and the situations in which an officer may encounter it. Students also learn the procedures for managing a crime scene, collecting and handling evidence, developing information, and preparing an investigation report.
