Workforce Credit Certificate Courses
Prerequisite: Completion of all courses in Instrumentation Program or work related experience. This course is designed to teach the necessary knowledge needed for the student to understand and practice the documenting of all the required information for plant maintenance and/or regulatory concerns. The student will be shown and instructed on the correct procedures for writing an instrument specification sheet, preparing an instrument calibration record, recording troubleshooting procedures, and maintaining maintenance records. The student will be introduced to and learn to recognize the symbols used for the instruments and peripheral equipment found on a Piping and Instrumentation Drawing (P&ID). The student will cover a full review of the instrumentation field to become proficient in preparing to test, for either certificate exam (NICET or ISA/CCST), with the use of multiple simulated exam testing.
