College Credit Course Description: ATF 2200

ATF 2200 Instrument Flight (Y) — 4 Credit Hours
Prerequisite: ATF 1104. This course is the second step in students' certification as instrument rated Commercial Pilots. The course consists of basic and advanced instrument flight, emergency procedures, instrument flight rules (IFR) radio communications, IFR cross country flight planning, IFR night flight, instrument approach and departure procedures, human factors, Federal Aviation Regulations, etc. The course requirements are met when students earn the Instrument Rating. FCCJ does not provide the airplane or the flight instruction required. All training is done at a private flight school of students' choice and at students' expense. FCCJ will award college credit for this instruction to currently enrolled students who have completed a minimum of three ATT, ASC or ATF courses appropriate to their degree at FCCJ. This credit will be awarded upon presentation of proof of solo flight (instructor endorsement and flight logged in student logbook) or pilot certification or rating added to pilot certificate, as appropriate. Six contact hours: two lecture hours, four laboratory hours. (CBE)
