College Credit Course Description: IND 2931

IND 2931 Inter-relationship of Design With Environments — 3 Credit Hours
Prerequisite: interior design major or approval from interior design adviser. This course will provide a wide range of design experiences through lectures, group discussions, research and field tours. Topics which will be explored are special populations, economic and psychological factors, as well as environmental concerns. Architectural styles with an emphasis on preservation and renovation will be stressed. To receive credit for this course, students must complete a thesis paper. These papers will be submitted to the Journal of Interior Design and Research (JIDER) for possible publication. Additional costs will be required by students for trips. Three contact hours.
