1520C Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing — 4 Credit Hours
Prerequisites: NUR 1060C, NUR 1115, NUR 1025C and
NUR 1149. Corequisites: NUR 1226C and NUR 1827. This course is designed to
assist the student in gaining knowledge and refining communication skills
necessary to implement the nurse's roles in the care of persons with biopsy
chosocial problems and concerns. Emphasis will be placed on the application
of interpersonal and critical thinking skills. Clinical experiences will be
provided in inpatient and other community settings. Six contact hours: two
lecture hours, four laboratory hours.
