TRA 2020 Economics of Transportation (Y) — 3 Credit Hours
Modern treatment of economic patterns and forces, with emphasis on North American transportation systems, are studied in conjunction with carrier cost structures and inter-carrier competition. The economic and regulatory pressures, which influence rate making policy and build freight rate floors and ceilings are reviewed and analyzed. Demand for freight transportation, efficient pricing, marketing, distribution strategies and available alternatives are discussed. Three contact hours.
