FIL 1000 The Movies as Art — 3 Credit Hours

Prerequisite: ENC 1101 or satisfactory score on placement test. This general survey course examines the development of the motion picture as a universal art form, its historical and international background, theme and subject selection and script development, technological equipment and innovations, elements of visual composition, sound and music, acting and directing, and film criticism and analysis. This course examines the motion picture as a universal expression of mans varied cultures and creative expressions. This course includes reading and writing competencies. Four contact hours (lecture/viewing). A.A.
