MUT 1641 Jazz Improvisation I — 2 Credit Hours

Prerequisite: consent of instructor. Corequisite: MUN 1710. This course is designed to introduce the concepts of jazz improvisation through chord-scale theory and relationships. The technical application of major scales, pentatonic scales, blues scales and modal scales to fundamental chord progressions will serve as the basis by which to create improvisatory solos.
