Prerequisite: ENC 1101 or satisfactory score on the placement test. This course presents the fundamental concepts of the study of religion. It deals with the origin of religion, the concept of God, death and dying in a religious context, myth, ritual, ethics, doctrine, as well as other topics that are relevant to understanding religion as an academic discipline. Although examples are drawn from various religions, no particular religion is specifically studied. This course includes reading and writing competencies. Three contact hours. A.A.
