Prerequisite: COP 2800 or Java Programming experience. This course is designed to provide a thorough working knowledge of (Java) programming language. The course is a lecture/lab course designed to be taught in a computer lab. This course starts by reviewing basic Java and object-oriented programming concepts then introduces and explores advanced Java concepts. Topics include stream I/O and random-access file I/O, collection classes, programming graphical user inter faces for applications using the AWT and Swing APIs, creating applets and JavaBean components. Study for the Sun Java Certification Exam is included in this course. Four contact hours (lecture/ lab combination). A.A., A.S., A.A.S.
