Prerequisite: CGS 1570 or CGS 1100. This course will provide the student with the basic concepts of how to manage Information Technology (IT) within organizational settings. Topics covered in the course include technology topics such as hardware, software and networking. Other areas covered are IT applications, methodologies and techniques for developing, purchasing and implementing information systems (IS) and user support. Special focus will be on alternative approaches to planning and managing IT resources and the IS organization. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) is required. Four contact hours (lecture/laboratory). A.S., A.A.S.
