Prerequisite: MGF 1106 or MAC 1105 with a grade of "C" or better. This course is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of descriptive and inferential statistics with a pronounced emphasis on inference. The major topics include methods for analyzing sets of data, probability, probability distributions, estimation, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, simple linear regression, and correlation. The probability and statistical skills measured by CLAST are among the skills taught in this course. Students with a grade of "C" or better in MGF 1106 satisfy the prerequisite. Three contact hours.
