EDF 2035 The Foundations of Cooperative Learning — 3 Credit Hours

Prerequisite: EDF 1005. This course provides an opportunity for education students and teachers to develop skills in active teaching, learning and assessment. It is a practical methods course that intensively studies the basic principles of cooperative learning and how they are implemented in lesson plans and in class management, so that students are truly working together. Students will work together cooperatively in this course as they study the principles of positive interdependence, individual accountability, group social skills, group processing and promotive interaction. Students will observe and report on classes using cooperative learning as well as plan and demonstrate a cooperative lesson plan. Three contact hours. A.A.
