JOU 2100 Newspaper Reporting and Writing — 3 Credit Hours

Prerequisite: ENC 1101 with a grade of "C" or better. This course introduces basic newspaper reporting ideas and skills, including writing news leads, organizing stories, interviewing techniques, ethics, and the role of the reporter. Since computer training is included, students should have basic typing skills before enrolling in this course. Students will gain practical experience by writing for the student newspaper. Three contact hours. A.A.
