Professional Pilot Technology (2258)
Earn your wings through this excellent curriculum which
includes flight training through a local FAA-approved flight school. This program
provides you with the knowledge, skills and FAA certificates that are required
to begin a civilian career as an FAA-certified flight instructor and commercial
pilot. The program is intended for those who want to complete the A.S. degree
and begin a rewarding career. Upon completion, you will have earned the following
FAA certificates and ratings: commercial, airplane single and multi-engine land,
commercial instrument, and commercial flight instructor.
You may receive college credit for previous flight and ground
school courses, or currently held FAA certificates; however, awarding of such
credit will be based solely on Florida Community Colleges evaluation of
your certificate(s), training and competency. Beginning with the 2003–2004
catalog year, after enrollment you will only receive college credit for flight training earned
through an FCCJ-contracted flight school.
Estimated tuition is $4,050 (for Florida residents, as of 7/05).
Estimated cost of textbooks, materials and fees is $500.
Estimated cost of in-flight training is $25,000.
