IT Security (Network Data Security) (2170)

IT security specialists are the crime-stoppers of technology. The never-ending threat and theft caused by hackers, viruses and worms makes IT security one of the highest priorities in business and government world-wide.

A degree in Network Data Security offers maximum opportunities in network database and e-commerce defense. The lab-based, hands-on program uses industry-current software and hardware at practical applications level. Training covers design, installation, management and troubleshooting security measures in data networks. Coursework includes firewalls, intrusion, detections systems, virtual private networks, hacking exploits, security design and securing applications. You’ll learn to detect security breaches, respond to cyber attacks and gather evidence needed to prosecute cyber crime. You will graduate ready for a career in high demand.

Florida Community College partners with manufacturers and employers to develop a workforce certified by Oracle, Microsoft and Cisco. Programs are designed to match industry demands and provide intensive hands-on experience — like the 60-hour internship — to ensure you are ready for the job.
