Automotive Service Management Technology (2236)

The need for educated automotive service technicians becomes greater every day. It is an indispensable occupation that carries job security and a better than average income. The Automotive Service Management Technology program combines your aptitude for mechanical and technical systems with basic business training. You will use current industry technology to locate, diagnose and address problems in every major system in an automobile, from the transmission to the drive trains, the electrical system to steering and suspension.

In this program you can choose between the Associate in Science and Associate in Applied Science degrees. Your training and education ready you for high-paying employment at a dealership, independent garage or other automotive repair facility. Applicants with degrees are in demand. The more education and experience you have, the better your income and opportunities will be.

Florida Community College’s multi-million-dollar Advanced Technology Center is one of the finest facilities of its kind in the nation. Labs are clean, air-conditioned, and stocked with state-of-the-art equipment. Each lab has Internet access for researching current automotive repair database information.

Notes
You have two options in this program: the associate in science (A.S.) degree, which can prepare you for employment or transfer to a state university, and the associate in applied science (A.A.S.) degree, which is intended primarily for students who want immediate employment after graduation. If you choose the A.S. degree you must take MAC 1105, MGF 1106 or a higher level mathematics. The A.A.S. degree requires MAT 1033 or higher. Please see an advisor to determine the option that is best for you.
