GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Technician (6203)

This technical certificate will provide the essential skills and knowledge needed to obtain entry level jobs as a GIS technician. A Geographic Information System (GIS) is a computer-based tool used to map and analyze spatial relationships. GIS technology integrates database operations with statistical analysis and presents this information visually using different mapping methods. Improved computer software and hardware is increasing the potential GIS applications and career opportunities open to individuals with GIS experience. This certificate will also increase job skills for students in our Architectural Design and Construction degree program.

Articulation
All courses in this technical certificate apply to the Architectural Design and Construction Technology (2202) associate in science degree.

Cost
Estimated cost of tuition is $1,395 (tuition rated for Florida residents, as of 7/06). Contact the program manager for additional costs (textbooks, materials, fees).
