Its hard to imagine computers that once filled a room now can sit on a desk, fit into a backpack or slide into a pocket. Its also commonplace to own multiple integrated, networked devices to keep us connected and informed. As a result, we need specialists who know how to keep our microcomputers operating.
Florida Community Colleges Microcomputer Repair/Installer program offers comprehensive training in the basics of installing, configuring, repairing and maintaining microcomputer and network hardware and software. There is an emphasis on customer support and problem solving in the business environment. Your coursework also prepares you for the CompTIA certification exams in A+ and Network+, which are impressive additions to your resume.
FCCJ partners with manufacturers and employers to develop a workforce certified by Oracle, Microsoft and Cisco. Programs are designed to match industry demands and provide an intensive hands-on experience to ensure you are ready for the job.
We are the regional resource for employers in every type of technology. Our partnerships with Cisco Systems, Dell, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle and Sun Microsystems provide career connections. An FCCJ intranet site posts jobs targeting our students. Graduates are regularly employed by CSX, JEA, Blue Cross Blue Shield, the City of Jacksonville, Medtronic, Mayo Clinic and other regional employers including the government and military.

Students who successfully complete this program will be prepared
to take CompTIA certification exams in A+ and Network+, certifications
that are highly valued by employers.
Students completing this program may transfer their
coursework into the Computer
Engineering Technology A.A.S. degree program and gain higher
level computer technician and networking skills.
