College Credit Courses
Prerequisite: AA/AS Degree or higher. This course examines the body of knowledge that applies to the field of health literacy and recommends actions to promote a health literate society. Content areas include an exploration of verbal and written techniques, tools, and interventions implemented to ensure health information is clearly communicated. In addition the concept of cultural competence will be introduced as an important component to improving health literacy. Students will learn key principles and strategies of effective health communication. Three contact hours (distance learning).
