College Credit Courses
Prerequisite: admission to the nursing program. This course introduces the beginning-nursing student to psychomotor techniques that are needed in the delivery of safe, quality health care to clients across the lifespan. The techniques are initially taught in the nursing simulation laboratory. Laboratory sessions will include demonstration, return demonstration, and testing of selective techniques. These sessions allow the students to practice nursing techniques in a "risk free" environment prior to entering the clinical environment. Proficiency of nursing techniques will be enhanced with additional community experiences. Seven contact hours: one lecture hour, two laboratory hours, four clinical hours. A.S.
