Prerequisite: ENC 1101 with a grade of C or better. This general survey course examines the development of the motion picture as a universal literary form, its historical and international background, theme and subject selection, and script development, technological equipment and innovations, elements of visual composition, sound and music, acting and directing, and criticism and analysis of classical and contemporary foreign/American films. The course examines the motion picture as a form of literature expressing humankinds varied narratives and cultures. This course satisfies the Gordon Rule writing requirement.
