Prerequisite: SPA 1603, SPA 1604 and ENC 1101 or with permission of the instructor. This course is for the advanced signer with limited exposure to American Sign Language. American Sign Language, as used by deaf adults, is studied with an emphasis on the phonological, morphological, semantic, syntactical, and metaphorical aspects of American Sign Language. Current research in the field is examined and discussed. Three contact hours. A.S.
