Prerequisite: MAC 1105 with a grade of "C" or better or satisfactory score on the placement test. The major topics included in this course are linear equations and inequalities, quadratic equations and inequalities, relations, functions and graphs, exponential and logarithmic functions, systems of equations and inequalities, higher degree polynomial equations, matrices and determinants, applications, sequences, series and the binomial theorem, and mathematical proof. A review of algebraic techniques and operations as well as a review of exponents, radicals, complex numbers and absolute value is also included in this course. Students with a grade of "C" or better in MAC 1102 satisfy the prerequisite. Four contact hours. (CBE) A.A., A.S., A.A.S.
