 Courses College Credit Courses AER 1293 Automatic Transmissions and Transaxles: Module IV, Transmission Fluids and Filters, Gaskets and Seals — 1 Credit Hour Prerequisite: AER 1292. This course is designed with knowledge-based, performance-based and intern-based skills identified as standards for the automotive industry. Topics will include theory, operation and repair of transmission filters and sealing systems. Performance skills include the removal/installation of seals and o-rings, replacement of filters and repairing unit threads using taps, dies and inserts. The knowledge skills represent theory of the topics and support the mastery of the performance-based skills for this topic. Twenty-two and one-half contact hours: fifteen lecture hours, seven and one-half laboratory hours. A.S., A.A.S.
