Prerequisite: AER 1351. This course is designed with knowledge-based, performance-based and intern-based skills identified as standards for the automotive industry. Topics will include theory and operation of todays automotive electronic circuits including communications with automotive computer systems. Performance skills require reading electronic components with emphasis on computer controls and communications. A systematic approach will be developed to specifically interpret and diagnose electronic computer circuits. The knowledge skills represent theory of the topics and support the mastery of the performance-based skills for this topic. Twenty-two and one-half contact hours: fifteen lecture hours, seven and one-half laboratory hours. A.S., A.A.S.
