Prerequisite: MAT 1033 with a grade of "C" or higher, or MTB 1314 (for A.A.S. only) with grade of "C" or higher, or satisfactory score on the mathematics placement test. This is an essential first course for CIS majors. It will intro duce the fundamentals of computer usage, covering topics such as editor functions, files (batch and interactive) and program compilation and execution. Students will be taught algorithm design using structured flow charting and pseudo-coding techniques. The programming language Pascal will be introduced and used throughout the course to supplement the theoretical foundations that are being built.
