Prerequisite: COP 1000 or programming experience and CGS 1100 or database experience. This course is designed to familiarize individuals with modern database technologies using the SQL relational data base language. A series of database application projects using Oracle software is designed to build familiarity with E-R database modeling, data base creation, database maintenance, and database optimization. Database architectures including the client/server model and distributed database model are presented. The objective is to build a working knowledge and hands-on familiarity with modern database technologies. Four contact hours: three lecture hours; one laboratory hour. A.S., A.A.S.
