Prerequisite: COP 1000. This course is designed to provide a thorough working knowledge of the Perl language. The course is a lecture/lab course designed to be taught in a computer lab. This course starts by introducing basic programming concepts using the Perl language. Topics include the use of variables, operators, programming constructs, regular expressions, file input/output, functions and subroutines, databases, and report writing. Students will use Perl to solve real-world problems. Four contact hours: three lecture hours, one laboratory hour. A.S., A.A.S.
