Prerequisite: CGS 1060, CGS 1570 or CGS 1100 or equivalent work experience. This course requires substantial lab time on microcomputers to learn and apply the operating system functions and commands that are valuable or necessary in a working environment. Students will review the basics of initializing diskettes, copying, file management, back-up and recovery, batch files and shell scripts. Operating systems reviewed in this course are DOS, Windows and UNIX. Four contact hours: three lecture hours, one laboratory hour. A.S., A.A.S.
