Computer Programming and Analysis (Client/Server Programming) (226C)

Computer programmers are the people who changed our lives as much as the fellow who invented the wheel. Without programmers, computers are useless. Applications programmers design, write, test, and debug software programs in industry-specific languages from astronomy to zoology. Systems programmers oversee and integrate the work of programmers and are technical advisors to systems analysts, application programmers, and operations personnel.

The Computer Programming and Analysis (Client/Server Programming) program prepares you for a respected career as a programmer, programmer-analyst, software developer and software engineer. You’ll study program and systems design, processing mathematics, communications, business management and advanced programming in specific languages. Our relationship with Microsoft’s Developer Network Academic Alliance allows you to download a free, licensed copy of the server and developer applications, operating systems and programming languages taught in your classes.

There are five technical certificates included as options within this degree program: Visual Basic 6, C Languages, SQL, Java and Visual Basic.NET. Students may choose to pursue the A.S. or A.A.S. degree and earn technical certificates while completing the requirements for the degree, or pursue one or more certificate programs to develop or upgrade their skills in a particular field. An Advanced Technical Certificate in Information Technology Management is available to IT professionals for management opportunities. Contact an advisor or counselor to determine the career education path that is best for you.
